Rogério Alves Comments on the Amnesty Law

Rogério Alves was a guest at Rádio Observador's podcast 'Causa Própria', released on January 4th, where he commented, together with Bishop Américo Aguiar, on the proposed Amnesty Law, which was the subject of a petition addressed to the Assembly of the Republic.

The firm's managing partner made an historical review of the most recent amnesties, from whose content the necessary lessons must be drawn, within the framework of what may be the preparation of a next legislative initiative.

He mentioned that, in Portugal, there is a “mythological and completely wrong” notion that the courts are complacent, which he illustrated by references to the average length of incarceration.
